Riad Sherif MD
Chairman of the Board
Co-founder
Dr Riad Sherif joined XPND Medical SA as Chairman of the Board in 2016.
Dr Sherif is Chief Executive Officer of Oculis. He joined Oculis from Novartis where he served as Entrepreneur in Residence at Novartis Venture Fund during 2017. Prior to this, he held senior positions in global business development both at Alcon, where he was Region President of Europe, Middle East and Africa, and Novartis Pharmaceuticals, where he served as President of Novartis Pharmaceuticals, Canada. Dr. Sherif joined Novartis Pharmaceuticals in 2002 and has also held roles as Head of Transplant and Infectious Disease for Latin America, and Head of the Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics Division for Latin America.
Dr. Sherif is a medical doctor by training, and also has an MBA from IMD and a Specialized Master’s degree in Medical Management.

Daniel Cimon

Daniel Cimon joined XPND Medical SA as CFO in 2016 and is now CEO since 2018.
Daniel Cimon has more than 15 years in the consulting industry. His entrepreneurial mindset led him to create his own consulting firm at the beginning of his career before joining Deloitte Canada's Finance and Performance Management team in Montreal a few years later. His main focus always has been the healthcare and pharma industry but led other transformation program in other industries such as Transportation, Pulp & Paper and Food retail.
Daniel Cimon has sat on several boards of directors over the years to support the local social and business community.
Daniel Cimon has a bachelor's degree in Finance from HEC Montréal and a Master's degree in industrial engineering for l'École Polytechnique de Montréal.
